Further, the indoor pool is about to be back in use. Last, Barron Dorm just received a makeover and got a kitchen and is about to get some new furniture in the not to distant future. Great things are happening!!!!
Judson College has incredibly dedicated faculty and staff, small classes, and a beautiful campus. This was the place where professors went out of their way to help me study in two unrelated fields. This was the place where I was given the opportunity to study abroad, sing in Carnegie Hall and tour England with the choir, and grow as a leader by serving the community. This was the place where every single person at the college committed themselves to my success. As a women's college founded in 1838, Judson has a rich history, a warm sisterhood, and prepares women for career success. I have watched many of my Judson sisters go on to complete challenging graduate programs. We believed we could because of the fantastic mentoring we were given at Judson. Judson is a very uniquely Christian and service-learning driven environment. It is not for everyone, but it was for me. If you go there wanting to grow in your faith, build lifelong friendships with other Christian women, and learn both to lead and to serve, then you will not be disappointed. Their pre-health professions programs are incredible, and they send many students on to future successes. I am one of these. At this point, I have graduated from a combined-degree medical school program (on scholarship) and am in my first year of residency training! Next summer, I will begin a competitive ophthalmology residency. I could not be more grateful to Judson for the opportunities she gave me, in such a supportive and nurturing environment!
I just want to state that as of fall 2011 the library is accessible. A new ramp was completed over the summer. Also, there is a new coffee nook where students can get free coffee and hot tea while using the wi-fi in the library.
I've gone here for two years now. It has become my home away from home, and I hate having to be away for summers! The people are great, the buildings are being fixed up, and the food improves daily! Yes, it has it's flaws, and it isn't right for everyone, but Judson is the place where young women can go in and become life longer learners. We also don't usually meet our husbands here, but we do get to meet our bridesmaids :) Hope this helped out someone!
People there are GREAT! However, they so many ridiculous rules that I decided that enough is enough. Also, they don't meet A.D.A. regulation. They're all about tradition, that they don't take into consideration that; 1. The dorms suck!, 2. I've been in the library only once, because they DON'T have a ramp. & 3. The only time they serve delicious food is when they have special events. Go there if you want (unless you're in a wheelchair like me) , cause the school will keep you safe... NOT! The security is a load of cap people! I don't know how Judson is still a running school?!? Someone please tell me?
The faculty, staff, & students are so friendly. It's a very welcoming, hospitable place. The majority of the young women are very talented, creative, eager to excel, & just delightful to be around. Among them are beautiful, sweet faces whose goodness radiates from sweet souls. . . .a little bit of heaven on Earth.
